About the Foundation
Helping people through hard times since 1960
Why we exist
The Milton G Hulme Charitable Foundation has worked since 1960 to support people when ordinary life is interrupted by an emergency. We believe a single hard month shouldn't turn into a hard year, and that help should reach people quickly and without judgment.
What we support
Our giving focuses on the arts, children and family services, and social services. Through our four funds, we provide direct grants and interest-free loans to individuals and families facing hardship, and we support programs that strengthen the communities we serve.
How we work
We keep our process short on purpose. You send one request, a staff member reviews it, and we contact you directly. We don't run credit checks, and we don't ask you to prove you deserve help — we ask what happened and how we can support you.
Accountability
As a 501(c)(3) organization, we file public financial reports every year. You can read them on our Reports page, or reach out to us with any question.
